In 2022, Ward Fire Equipment was formed as a Division of Ward Apparatus, LLC, following the acquisition of LaFrance Equipment. LaFrance has been synonymous with firefighting since 1948.
Established in 2018,
Ward Apparatus acquired Tyler Fire Equipment Service Corporation Company and LaFRANCE Equipment Corporation Apparatus Business Unit. Operations were combined and relocated to BEST Corporate Park. The Ward Apparatus Service Division specializes in offering Full Service Programs/Repairs for your Fire/EMS apparatus in Upstate NY & the Northern Tier of PA.
In 2021, Ward Apparatus announced the acquisition of Maintainer Customer Bodies, based out of Rock Rapids, Iowa. Ward Apparatus has ties to a time when the region was known as the “Fire Truck Capital of the World”. Ward LaFrance and American LaFrance were based in nearby Elmira, NY and the tradition of excellence in fire truck manufacturing continues again with Ward Apparatus, LLC. WARD is part of the BEST Family of Companies. Our companies have serviced the fire industry for more than 30 years, including Ward Diesel Filter Systems, Ward Clean Air Products, EL Manufacturing, BOSS Security & Automation and BEST Corporate Park. The combination of experience in the industry and manufacturing capabilities have WARD positioned to continue and expand MCB’s tradition of manufacturing the finest emergency vehicles available in the fire industry.
